Retail stores Eataly Smeraldo Milan

Eat, buy, learn. The winning Eataly Smeraldo format is lit by iGuzzini

This project unites two companies with the same belief in the indisputable importance of ethics, environment, heritage, society and beauty. Two companies that both see these qualities as the founding principles for responsible production techniques and a sustainable lifestyle. The relationship between iGuzzini and Eataly has now taken shape at Eataly Smeraldo, the latest in this prestigious brand's line of foodstores to open in Italy.

We are always ready to put our intelligent, top quality, low environmental impact lighting at the service of architecture and the retail sector. And it is this know-how that is behind the lighting system that invites visitors into Eataly's new multi-functional temple of wholesome delights

Officially dedicated to music on account of its location in Milan's former Smeraldo Theatre, Eataly Smeraldo covers five floors, two below ground and three above. All the products used to create the store's precise lighting system feature LED lamps and meet the requirements of the area in which they are installed. For the employee areas, such as the changing rooms, fire exit stairs, corridors and bathrooms, recessed  iPlan and Deep Laser, and ceiling-mounted Bos devices have been used. And what better than Reflex Easy for focusing attention on the dishes in the Alice kitchen and restaurant, along with Pixel ProLaser Blade and Lun Up recessed luminaires?

For the product display and general transit areas, large and small body Front Light spotlights have been installed on account of their adaptability and vast range of accessories.

And a particularly theatrical effect has been created to highlight the attractive beamed ceiling and revolving entrance door using Underscore light strips.

To recreate the colours of the former Smeraldo Theatre, we have also designed a special, new product called Le Perroquet that features an indirect light and an emerald green disc. The same spotlights have also been used to light the tables.
