IALD and Alingsås Energi renew Lights in Alingsås agreement

The CEO of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), and the CEO of Alingsås Energi, the new managing party of the Lights in Alingsås festival and workshop, renewed IALD’s participation with the festival on 29 September 2017.

IALD and Alingsås Energi renew Lights in Alingsås agreement

Signed by Marsha Turner, CAE, CEO of IALD and Jan Olofzon, CEO of Alingsås Energi, the agreement will last from 2018-2020, and indicates that the organizations will work collaboratively to support the event and promote the power it has to improve public spaces.

Alingsås municipality recently transferred the responsibility of Lights in Alingsås to Alingsås Energi, who has been a proud sponsor and important part of Lights in Alingsås since the start of the annual event 18 years ago. Lights in Alingsås begins with a workshop before the exhibition opens to the public. During the workshop week, lighting designers and students from all over the world are gathered in Alingsås to illuminate selected sites along a walking loop of about 3 km. During the five weeks of the event, Lights in Alingsås welcomes more than 80,000 visitors.

“IALD is delighted to continue its support of the very special Lights in Alingsås event. Alingsås Energi is uniquely positioned to lead this 18-year enterprise into its next phase of development. We look forward to our continued collaboration with the Lights in Alingsås team.” – Marsha Turner, CAE, Chief Executive Officer of IALD

“Starting in 2018, we now assume the entire responsibility for the development of Lights in Alingsås, including the event, all agreements and the international contacts. We are very proud of the responsibilities we have received and look forward to the new assignment.”  - Jan Olofzon, Chief Executive Officer of Alingsås Energi
