The GRAFA system, designed by Jean Michel Wilmotte, and EGGBOARD, by Giovanni Giacobone and Massimo Roj, received the prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD 2016 for the “Products” category.

This award is acknowledged all over the world as a quality benchmark and has been attributed for over 60 years to the best international projects that stand out for design excellence. Fifty-three countries participated in the 2016 edition of the iF Design Award with 5,295 projects selected by a jury of 58 international experts. The awarding ceremony will take place on February 26 next at BMW Welt in Munich.

Lots of Artemide appliances received the iF Design Award in time, and the projects Grafa and Eggboard further confirm the company’s reputation acknowledged worldwide as an expression of the best Italian design, with innovative lighting projects combining technological research with high aesthetic value and manufacturing quality to reproduce a new environmental quality.

While these projects are designed to ensure top performance in work premises, the quality of their light and, for Eggboard, of sound control turns out ideal for a variety of application fields, from office & education to hospitality & entertainment, from retail to hall & connectivity.

“Eggboard originates from a simple idea: combining acoustic comfort and visual comfort in one device capable to help create an utterly comfortable ambiance.” Giovanni Giacobone and Massimo Roj

Eggboard is a suspension lamp that offers high sound and lighting efficiency. Its sound-absorption properties are obtained by means of a special sinusoid design of the bottom surface and the use of a sound-absorbing material. Two optical versions with different performances developed in two sizes allow to dose light according to individual space requirements. Multiple appliances suspended at different heights and in different colours allow to adjust the lighting performance according to space characteristics and to create scenic architectural and lighting compositions.

“Grafa is the simplest form of a LED suspension lamp, made of sheets suspended by means of small colour clips, which give the system a technical, easy-to-interpret look.” Jean Michel Wilmotte

Grafa is a very flexible system. Its elements create compositions that allow to adjust light in space with maximum freedom.

Colour clips and a smart power connection system concealed within its thin edge connect the individual modules of the lighting engine: direct and indirect emission panels ensuring high lighting performance in compliance with the rules on work spaces.

Modules of different geometric shapes, in the stand-alone version or combined in a system to customize light in all kinds of premises.
