Nature, light, water, wood

An award-winning water processing facility has been newly built in Andelfingen, Switzerland. Set into a beautiful landscape, the architects approached the project in a unique way, and the result is a breathtaking building that takes sustainability to a new level.

The “werkhof” is constructed solely from wood. 36 pre-constructed units to be precise. Set onto a concrete base, the building was put up in just four days. Few additional materials are used, mainly to form the water and electrical infrastructures, and the lighting. And of course, in such a building, sustainability is core. For this reason, OMS luminaire LINE RANGE LED was chosen by Swiss lighting partner TRE Rohrbach AG. A cost-conscious choice in terms of investment, the luminaire is also a cost-conscious and ecologically sound choice in terms of energy consumption and environmental impact for the long-term. Discretely set into the projecting horizontal elements of the structure, the luminaires provide high quality light both inside and out.

We are proud to have been involved in such a forward-thinking project, and fully support the creation of more sustainable buildings and lighting solutions in the future.
